Tracy Silberfein

I joined College Club in spring 2019 as a chance to get back on the water. I started rowing in high school at Mt. Baker in Seattle during the early 1990s. I continued my rowing career at Dartmouth College, but after a few post-graduate years of coaching at various clubs around Seattle, I turned my focus to career and family. Every spring however, seeing the boats out on the water, I realized how much I missed it. College Club was the perfect fit for me, with their early morning rowing and flexible schedule that allowed me to be a competitive rower, a mom to twin boys and still make it to my 7 am work meetings.

Since joining the Club, I have been impressed with the variety of activities available, providing opportunities for recent college graduates looking for social opportunities in the midst of the notorious “Seattle Freeze”, families who want to spend time together enjoying summer concerts or recreational time on the water, and of course the variety of rowing programs that provide opportunity to everyone from high school students to competitive masters, while introducing people to the sport through learn to row programs.

Being back on the water has given me time to myself, and a chance to escape the stresses of work and family for a few hours every week. As a part of the Board, I hope to ensure we are able to continue to provide a variety of programs to help others find that same escape. I look forward to being involved with the Club for many years to come. Thank you for your consideration.
